In case you haven’t been in touch with your inner child for a while, the world of toys has changed so much. Gone are the days of dolls with hair you can brush or remote control cars – these days, toys talk to you, bring you to virtual worlds… and some shoot fireballs.
In a case of "Tiktok made me buy it", Singapore TikToker Jia Hong (@jiahongggggg) put up a video recently of a most peculiar toy he purchased – the Incendio Magic Wand.
BUY IT: Original Incendio Wand (from $89.65)
Inspired by Harry Potter (but definitely not officially licensed), the wand promises to shoot fireballs – and it does as Jia Hong shows in his prank video.
In the video, Jia Hong demonstrates that each wand has a switch which activates a heating coil in the wand. The package also contains some strips of flash paper that you can tear into small pieces and crush into a ball to put at the tip. When the button at the base is pressed, the flash paper ignites to shoot from the end like a fireball.
A worried user even asked, "Wait is this allowed in sg?" but Jia Hong was quick to say that he bought the wand from Amazon and that it "uses flash paper that magicians use for tricks".
And if his explanation doesn't alleviate your anxiety, flash paper is actually the theatrical name given to paper, cotton or tissue treated with nitric acid. When it comes in contact with a lighter, match or any other extreme heat source, flash paper burns instantly with a brilliant “flash” that leaves behind no smoke or ash.
In other words, if you're not pointing to anything flammable, it's safe.
Of course, sometimes things go wrong.
In a separate video, he shows that the paper gets stuck in the wand and fails to shoot fireballs. But when he presses the button a second time, a bigger flame erupts from the wand which also surprises him.
If he doesn't stress enough that it's real fire it shoots, Jia Hong also uses the wand to light up his gas cooker. His magic wand videos have racked up 663K views to date.
The wands are not exactly cheap on Amazon, starting from $89.65 and come in different designs. While we only found two designs, Jia Hong bought three sorts of Incendio wands.
And if you're getting the wand, you might want some accessories to go with it – like a wand stand to store it when you're not busy casting spells.

With Halloween coming, would you buy this wand to complement your costume? Or just get it for pranks with friends and family? Whatever your reason is, stay safe!
